Vincent Weijl is beginning to produce some of his best form at Liverpool.
The Dutch winger, signed from AZ Alkmaar in the summer, was outstanding in Liverpool's reserve-team victory over Wigan this week and coach Gary Ablett told liverpoolfc.tv: "I spoke about how we needed to get the ball out wide and then into the box before the match.
"But the problem before this game was that we didn't have enough players in the box to get on the end of them.
"It was good that we managed to score from one of those crosses, and we had great quality there, especially from the left-hand side with Vincent Weijl.
"We had a lot of chances from him so he should be really pleased with his contribution.
"I think Vincent will be the first to admit he still has a lot to learn in terms of the defensive side of his game, and we've got plenty of time to teach him that.
"But he certainly did what we asked him to do against Wigan."
