Aston Villa forward Ashley Young spends time on spot kicks in training and this dedication proved itself when he scored the crucial third goal in his side's 3-1 victory at Liverpool on Monday night. "In training me and Mili [James Milner] have been practising. A few have been missed, a few have gone over the bar," he told the club's official website.
"But as soon as I got the ball I knew where I was going and luckily for me the keeper went the wrong way and I scored the goal."
Young's free-kick struck Lucas Leiva, and deflected into the net for the Midlanders opener.
"It's one of those that you put into an area and lucky for us it deflected off Lucas and went in and it got us on a role," he added.
"It's just about putting it into an area where anything can happen.
"But I don't know you can pick out one person, it was a team performance. We've got a great team spirit and everyone pulled together for each other."
