Villa's Young: England training improving me

Aston Villa winger Ashley Young says being involved with the England senior squad is improving him as a player.

He told Villa's website: "To have a chance of going to a European Championships with the senior squad would be a dream come true. Every player wants to play at the highest level and I'd love to help England reach the European Championships.

"Just training with the national team can only help me continue to develop as a player. But like every other player in the squad I want to play and I'd love to get a chance in these two games.

"I played for the Under-21s in the summer in a major tournament and it was an amazing experience. Things went well for me and I came into this season with loads of confidence."

Young, who has started the season impressively for Villa, added: "I was delighted to keep my place in the England squad. It's always nice to be picked for your country. Now I can hopefully show what I've been doing for Villa and maybe get into the team.

"The fact that I was involved last month makes this even more special. I know what it's all about now, so I'll join up with the squad full of confidence."
