Villa's Young admits being Arsenal mad

Aston Villa winger Ashley Young admits he's a huge Arsenal fan.

"I can't remember what my first replica shirt was but it would have definitely been an Arsenal one because I think I've had every single Arsenal shirt that has come out," he told the Sunday Mercury.

"I've still got them all somewhere in the house. I used to have Wright on the back of every single one of them.

"When I was younger I was a centre forward, I used to support Arsenal so my idol was Ian Wright back in the day. It was always him that I was trying to be like.

"I met him when I was younger and when I was at Watford we played Arsenal at the training ground when the first team were in so I got to meet him then.

"Even not so long ago I saw him at a England game and was talking to him there."

But Villa fans need not worry that Arsene Wenger will come sniffing because Young admits that he's perfectly happy with life as a Villan.

"I'm just concentrating on how things are going at Villa. I've got years to go on my contract so I'm a Villa player and I'm extremely happy here.

"Hopefully Martin O'Neill will be the manager for a long time and I can learn more from him."
