Aston Villa fullback Stephen Warnock is delighted with his call up to the England squad.
Villa's left-back received an England call-up for the prestige friendly against Brazil in Qatar via text message.
Warnock told Villa's website: "I am delighted - over the moon. It was a nice surprise to say the least. I'm looking forward to the challenge ahead now. I just want to make a good impression.
"I got a text message from the FA last night. That's how I found out - but I'd got my phone on silent.
"I knew the squad was being announced at about 8pm. The time had passed and I didn't think I was in it because my phone was in my jeans pocket.
"But I got it out at about quarter past, realised it was on silent and spotted the text message from the FA saying I had been selected."
Warnock added: "If you are getting into the England squad - and you haven't been in it for a while - and you say you're not nervous there's something wrong with you. It's exciting and there's a good nervousness about it."
