Aston Villa midfielder Steve Sidwell has no regrets leaving Reading two seasons ago.

He is currently keeping Nigel Reo-Coker out the side and scored a superb goal after just 34 seconds at Everton on Sunday.

He said: "It has been a frustrating year but I've never liked the easy life.

"I could have stayed at Reading on a big contract but I wanted the Chelsea challenge.

"You have to rise to the challenge."
