Villa's Reo-Coker studying Man Utd stars for wing tips

Aston Villa midfielder Nigel Reo-Coker admits he's studying the games of Manchester United pair Cristiano Ronaldo and Ryan Giggs to adjust to his new position this season.

"Playing right midfield is what the manager has asked me to do and it's for the benefit of the team," he told the Sunday Mercury.

"It's going fine, I'm learning a different position and I've had to try and change my mentality and thinking like a winger.

"I look at the best wingers of this generation, Ronaldo and Giggs, and see what makes them so good.

"I'm not trying to say I'm at their calibre but I try and play my game like how they play theirs. You have to adapt and learn when to get wide, when to start off wide and the runs that you make.

"You study football and you try and note every single position where players should be regardless of what formation they are playing, it's just the basic foundations of football. That's something I've been doing for a long time.

"I'm not really a trickster or flickster style of winger, I've got a few things in the locker and I've been in a few tight situations but I'm more physical."
