Villa's Milner warns O'Neill over job prospects

Aston Villa winger James Milner says Martin O'Neill should probably be worried about his job!

For, in his eighth year as a professional, the 23-year-old is still to end a season with the same manager he had when it started.

"I don't know how many I have played under," he smiled.

"Including caretakers it is probably 12 or 13 (including John Carver and Nigel Pearson the actual number is 13, which incorporates a loan spell at Swindon).

"Hopefully this could be the first season I start and finish with the same manager.

"I am not making excuses but that hasn't helped. There always seemed to be something going on at Leeds and Newcastle. Getting relegated with Leeds was probably my lowest point.

"But it is not just going through the tough times, it is what you take from them that counts.

"You can't change anything that is happening with takeovers or administration. All you can control is what is happening on the pitch.

"You try and play as well as you can. But as a squad as a whole, it does affect you when you don't know what is happening. You need stability."
