Aston Villa central defender Martin Laursen is planning further talks over his future after Saturday's FA Cup clash with Manchester United.

Laursen's current deal expires in the summer but he has proved his worth this season after lengthy injury spells with Villa manager Martin O'Neill describing him as a "colossus".

The 30-year-old, who grabbed the winner against Tottenham on New Year's Day, said: "I think both parties have talked. I have just concentrated on playing football and I think the manager has as well. It has been a hard period.

"When we have got the Manchester United game out of the way, then we will meet up again. I told my agent to take care of everything. I trust him, I just want to concentrate on my football."
