"Derby would be perfect for me," he told the Derby Evening Telegraph. "They're obviously a club that are going places and any player would want to be a part of that.
"My agent spoke to Derby and they said they were going to have to wait until the manger knew his budget and things like that.
"Billy, like a lot of managers, is on holiday at the moment but, hopefully, I'll hear something in the next couple of weeks.
"I watched Derby on TV last season and you can see the type of manager they've got. He's a passionate guy and gets the players going. Sometimes he looks like he wants to run on to the pitch and do it himself!
"I'm good mates with Seth Johnson and he's told me about how good the facilities are there. I would love to be a part of it all."
