Villas-Boas will go with Chelsea kids for Cup clash with Liverpool

Chelsea boss Andre Villas-Boas will go with his kids for their Carling Cup quarterfinal with Liverpool.

The Carling Cup was the first of five major trophies in three years for Jose Mourinho after his arrival from Porto in 2004 but the man following in his footsteps at Porto and Chelsea wants to follow his own instincts.

"We will continue to put the young kids in," said Villas-Boas. "That's the philosophy we've spoken about. It's most likely you will see our younger players against Liverpool. It's a worthy risk for the future of the club.

"Our Carling Cup campaign has nothing to do with what happened in 2004. We're not looking for comparisons.

"It's just one competition where we have a chance to get through to the semi-finals. It's a very difficult game at home as they're a very good side and we will have to be at our best."
