Villas-Boas proud of professional Tottenham players

Andre Villas-Boas was delighted with the performance of his Tottenham players in Thursday night's 4-1 Europa League win over Anzhi Makhachkala.

Spurs finished the group stage of Europe's second tier club competition with six wins from six outings and Villas-Boas was pleased to see them perform so well despite having top spot in Group K wrapped up prior to the game.

"The professionalism of the players to play the game was excellent and we were able to give a good standard to our play," he told ITV4 after Roberto Soldado netted a hat-trick at White Hart Lane.

"We created lots of attacking chances and it was pleasing on the eye."

Spurs, who sit sixth on the Premier League table, will now prepare to host second-placed Liverpool on Sunday.
