Villas-Boas can point to the statistics to prove he was far from a terrible Spurs manager.
In his programme notes for the Liverpool match - when he was missing centre-backs Jan Vertonghen, Vlad Chiriches and Younes Kaboul - he pointed out a run of seven points from nine.
