Villas-Boas backing Bertrand to fill Cole void
Chelsea manager Andre Villas-Boas believes Ryan Bertrand is capable of filling in for the suspended Ashley Cole.
The England international will miss Sunday’s vital clash with Manchester United after he was sent off against Swansea City midweek but the Blues boss is confident that 22-year old Bertrand can do the job at left-back.
"It's a game of massive importance based on recent results and the fact that we have Man United, the champions, at home.
"Difficult decision to be made (on Saturday) when we practice strategically for the game.""We have full trust in Ryan's abilities," said Villas-Boas who may also use Jose Bosingwa in Cole’s position.

Why is it that it's only when Ashley Cole was red carded that AVB now have confidence on Bertrand? Is Bertrand not suppose to play the match against swansea rather than risk Cole. Cole is a great player but needs to be rested once in a while. If the young Bertrand have been given enough playing time will we be afraid of featuring him now? The major problem of Chelsea is our in-ability to trust our Ýoung players. Against swansea,a player like Piazon should have been a better choice far ahead of the ineffective Malouda. We know we cannot win the league again but,it's high time we started our rebuilding process. Up chelsea.
Time for some tactical changes here, Lukaku leading the line with Torres and Sturridge either side of him, Mata in the centre of midfield pulling the strings, Essien protecting the back four and Cahil in for Terry. A much more solid unit to work with than the light weights we have had recently !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
