Villa's Berger keeping options open

Aston Villa attacker Patrik Berger is keeping his options open.

Berger said: "It's great to be back and playing again with the first-team in the Premier League. I've missed a large part of this season through injury, but that's life and I can't do anything about that.

"I'm fine now and have been doing my best in training and with the reserves and the reward is now that I'm back and part of the team.

"The Derby win was a great boost. To be fair, the game was over when I came on. But it was nice to have a hand in Marlon's goal.

"I've been missing it. The boys are playing well this season so it's been hard to break back in, but at least I can play my part and hopefully get a few minutes here and a few minutes there.

"I'm unsure as to what is happening. I would like to carry on playing but I don't really know what's going to happen here. I will keep my options open and then sit down with the family and decide with them what is the best for us at the end of the season."
