Aston Villa striker Gabby Agbonlahor says Scott Carson's penalty save against Blackburn Rovers was just what he needed ahead of the England squad being picked this week.

Carson, who has two England caps, saved Matt Derbyshire's tame effort in the 1-1 draw and Agbonlahor said: "It will be a big boost for Scott to save that penalty.

"He is a good keeper, is hard to score past and deserves to be in there as England No.1."
