Villa's Agbonlahor: Nigeria never in reckoning

Aston Villa striker Gabby Agbonlahor says there's no chance of him committing to Nigeria as he waits for his first full England cap.

He said: "I think everyone knows that from the way I scored my first goal for England Under-21s, so there's never been any doubt I'd play for anyone else but England. That's where I was born so putting on the Three Lions means a lot to me.

"Making the full international squad is on my mind and I've heard a few things and read a few stories, but at the moment, I'm just concentrating on playing my best for Villa.

"It's up to Steve McClaren really. I've got to concentrate on my club football and if I get the chance, then I'll it.

"Hopefully I'm not too far away. You have to be judged on how you're playing for your club and hopefully I'm doing well for Villa. If I carry on doing well for Villa week in, week out then I can get the chance.

"It helps you to improve your game when you are playing for the Under-21s against the best young players from other countries. "
