Aston Villa striker Gabby Agbonlahor says being nominated for Young Player of the Year inspired him against Derby on Saturday.
Agbonlahor is up against team-mate Ashley Young, Cristiano Ronaldo, Cesc Fabregas, Fernando Torres and Micah Richards for the prestigious award.
And he believes his announcement on the list gave him a confidence boost before the game against Derby.
He told AVTV: "That nomination gave me a real lift - no question. The key is that it is voted for by your peers and that means an enormous amount to me.
"To be recognised by your fellow players is a real achievement.
"Ashley has also been nominated too and rightly so because he has been superb this season. It's a real boost for the club to have two people nominated."
