Manchester City have confirmed the signing of young winger Alex Garcia from Villarreal for a reported fee of £2million.

The 18-year-old, who has represented Spain at U18 level, is expected to join City's U21 squad.

City announced the move on Twitter, writing: “Manchester City FC are delighted to announce the signing of @97_aleix from @VillarrealCF - welcome to @MCFC, Aleix!"

The player also posted a picture of him signing the contract with the caption: “Beginning a new stage at Manchester City, thanks for all my family at Villarreal."
