Villarreal midfielder Robert Pires insists he's in the dark over interest from Olympique Lyon.

Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas wants former Arsenal star Pires to close out his career back home in France.

But Pires said: "Regarding Lyon, you would have to ask president Aulas, who is the decision maker.

"The truth is that there may be many rumours, but until June I will be here because that is when my contract comes to an end.

"I have not made any decisions and I do not know if I will end my career in Spain, I will return to France or I'll go to the United States. However, I assure you I will not leave Villarreal this winter."
