Villarreal are weighing up handing veteran stopper Pascal Cygan a new 12 month deal.
The Frenchman was preparing to leave Spain this summer, but could be offered a chance to stay with Villarreal seeking a replacement for defender Martin Caceres.
Caceres is nearing a move to Barcelona and Villarreal management are anxious about finding a replacement before allowing him to leave.
