Villarreal striker Giuseppe Rossi says his former Manchester United teammate Cristiano Ronaldo is the best player in the world.

"I would say that Ronaldo is currently the best player in the world," Rossi told setantasports.com. "He has been doing exceptionally well for Manchester United this season, he already scored 27 goals, and it is only February so if he continues he can score 50.

"It's not only about the goals his scores but also about what he can create on the pitch.

"It is great to watch such a player.

"If he continues what he is doing he will be the best for a long time."
