Villarreal have splashed out £4 million for Real Madrid goalkeeper Diego Lopez.

Real didn't intend to sell Lopez, who was Iker Casillas' understudy this season, but couldn't refuse Villarreal's surprise offer.

Lopez is expected to thrash out personal terms with Villarreal directors in the coming days.
