Villarreal appear to have beaten Inter and AC Milan for Fluminense defender Thiago Silva.

The Brazil international is off contract at Flu in the New Year and has openly revealed offers from Inter, AC Milan and Chelsea in the past week.

However, Brazilian sources are saying Thiago has agreed terms with Villarreal and will move to Spain in January.

For now, Thiago's agent, Paulo Tonietti, is staying tightlipped on the claims.
