Villarreal's de Guzman could switch back to Canada

Villarreal midfielder Jonathan de Guzman will soon make a decision regarding his international career.

The 24-year old Canadian-born younger brother of Toronto FC ace Julian de Guzman has represented Holland at youth level but could still make the switch back to the Canada team to join his sibling.

"Hopefully in the next month you will see him (make the call)," said Julian de Guzman.

"As a brother I've always supported him in his decisions….Finally, he kind of considered playing for the Canadian national team. I spoke to him as a brother saying this is something that would be great for him, for myself, for the country.

"He could be a big help. He definitely feels Canadian himself, so, he would like to step forward and make that opportunity happen."
