Villarreal president Fernando Roig fears for the Spanish Liga after the opening round of the season. Twenty-four hours after Real Madrid won 6-0 at Real Zaragoza, Roig's Villarreal were thumped 5-0 by Barcelona.
"This is not the league we want. I sell players to balance budgets and others ask and are granted credits," barked Roig.
"If you want a two team league, well, you've got it. But this is not good for football. I fear for the game in the next three or four years.
"If things do not change, this will be the death of Spanish football."
Despite the concern, Roig admitted Barca were outstanding on the night.
"They did great and Villarreal have played a very bad game, one of the worst," he added.
