Joan Capdevila set the Twitter-sphere into overdrive by claiming Villarreal teammate Diego Lopez had signed with Manchester United.
The Spanish goalkeeper has long been linked with United.
And fullback Capdevila tweeted last night: "Diego has recently signed by Manchester United! We are wishing him the best."
The news spread like wildfire and forced Capdevila to come clean.
"Uyyyyyy forget the tweet with Diego Lopez. It was a bachelor party prank I hope we did not upset anyone. Diego stays with Villarreal!"
