Villarreal must up their bid if they're to land Gremio starlet Douglas Costa.

The Yellow Submarines are willing to offer £7 million for the attacking midfielder, but Gremio are seeking £9 million.

Costa's agent, Cesar Bottega, confirmed Villarreal's pursuit: "They've been looking at him for six months and we are convinced that he is the midfielder they need."
