Villarreal are expected to hold a round of talks with the representatives of Fluminense defender Thiago Silva before the weekend.

The Brazil international is ready to leave Flu at the end of the year and wants to move to Europe during the winter market. Hopes of joining either AC Milan or Inter appear to be receding as Thiago doesn't carry a European passport.

Meanwhile, Villarreal chief Jose Manuel Llaneza is expected to meet with Thiago's agents on Friday to discuss a potential move to Spain for the defender.
