Former Spain international and Villarreal star Marcos Senna has been named the New York Cosmos Player of the Year for 2013.
The 37-year old Brazilian-born Spanish midfielder was named the best Cosmos player in the North American Soccer League as the returning club took out the Soccer Bowl after finishing top of the Fall season table.
Senna also landed the Cosmos' Golden Boot award after topping the team with five goals in their debut campaign after re-launching from the brand that dissolved in 1985.
Head coach Giovanni Savarese said of Senna: "With the end of the season, we wanted to acknowledge the outstanding efforts of some key individuals on our squad.
"Obviously, Marcos has been instrumental for us and his contribution has been immense, but overall it's been a tremendous team effort all season long."
