Villarreal chief Jose Manuel Llaneza has cooled talk of a move for Portsmouth defender Sol Campbell.
Llaneza says they're keen to strengthen their defence, but it must be a young signing.
"Somebody coming in has not been ruled out, although there is no certainty that anything will happen," said Llaneza.
"We will not be signing a player for the sake of it and will not spend money that we do not have.
"If we look at anyone it will be a player that we are interested in because we need them and is available at the right price. We would also look to buy a player for the future."
