Villarreal CF have confirmed that Gabriel Paulista will join Arsenal.
The Spanish club are set to lose the in-form central defender to the Gunners for a reported fee of £15million after agreeing a deal in principle.
24-year old Brazilian defender Paulista will join the north London club who will send promising Costa Rican forward Joel Campbell to Villarreal on loan for the remainder of the season.
Arsenal have lodged an application for a work permit for Paulista, who is yet to play international football, but it appears as though the deal will be completed as the Gunners go about obtaining clearance.
Paulista found his way to El Madrigal from homeland side Vitoria in 2013 and made 50 appearances for the Yellow Submarine.
Villarreal posted the following on Twitter: "The principle of agreement for the transfer of Gabriel with @Arsenal has been completed. He will say his goodbyes today before the party. good luck!"
