Villarreal coach Marcelino was happy with their 1-0 win over Europa League opponents Liverpool.
Having reached the last four in European competition three times without ever going the extra step, the Yellow Submarine find themselves 90 minutes away after Adrian Lopez struck at the death.
"I'm happy with how we started because Liverpool showed us a lot of respect, but we made changes with the idea of refreshing the team," Marcelino said.
"We wanted them to play with the same idea but to be more threatening in attack."
He warned that nothing has been clinched yet, but was clear in paying tribute to the fans as the team look to make history at Anfield on Thursday.
"The dream is closer but still very far away. Tonight was a dream, not only because of the result, but for the fans."
