Villarreal chief Llaneza keen for Garrido to stay on

Villarreal chief Jose Manuel Llaneza insists caretaker coach Jose Carlos Garrido can be their long-term solution.

Garrido stepped in for Ernesto Valverde earlier this season and overseen a major improvement in Villarreal's fortunes.

Llaneza said: "My hope and that of the president Fernando Roig is that Juan Carlos is the coach of this team. I think he has everything to continue and I hope he shows that he is able to do so.

"Juan Carlos has recovered the team's spirit and they're competitive again."
