Villarreal ace Robert Soldado says Andre Villas-Boas' sacking was the beginning of the end to his Tottenham career.
Soldado has quickly revived his career this season with the Yellow Submarine.
"I went with enthusiasm and excitement for what was a challenge for me, thinking that the Premier League was an ideal [type of] football for me, but it was quite the opposite," he told AS.
"From the dismissal of Villas-Boas [in December 2013], who was the one who had opted for me, everything backfired. I lost confidence and I had a hard time.
“The most important thing for me was to return to enjoy. After the two years that I had in England my objective was to return to be happy in [my] day-to-day [life]."
