Audax Italiano midfielder Carlos Villanueva will join Blackburn Rovers next week.

Rovers have agreed a deal in principle for the 22-year-old, which would involve him joining initially on a season-long loan, but with a view to a permanent transfer.

Chairman John Williams told the Lancashire Telegraph: "Carlos will arrive in England at the same time as the squad returns from Portugal."
