Juan Villalonga could walk out of Valencia barely weeks after being invited to join the club by majority shareholder Juan Soler.
Marca says powerbroker Villalonga is ready to quit the board over Soler's refusal to make extra funds available for team strengthening - and instead seek the sales of star trio Joaquin, David Silva and David Villa.
For his part, Valencia president Agustin Morera maintained last night: "Valencia is not experiencing a buoyant situation, we cannot hide from that. But Valencia has always paid. It is wrong to claim that we no longer can pay our way.
"We are not going to go bankrupt tomorrow."
