Aston Villa midfielder Gary Gardner is delighted with his loan move to Coventry City.

The 19-year-old is excited by the opportunity to further his football education and showcase his talent at senior level.

"I'm raring to go and can't wait to get out on the pitch," he told Villa's website.

"The lads, the gaffer and the assistant have all made me feel welcome and I can't wait to get playing first team football and show what I've got.

"The gaffer told me on Saturday that he wanted me to go out on loan for a month and straight away I thought of Coventry because it is near home and I have heard that it is a great place from Lee Carsley and people like that."
