Aston Villa manager Alex McLeish has been backed by young gun Nathan Delfouneso following his defection from Birmingham City.
The Scottish tactician controversially departed St Andrew's this summer, following the clubs relegation to the Championship, and has been criticised by many for the way he left things at the Blues.
But 20-year old Delfouneso says that his new boss' move is simply part and parcel of football and hopes the Villa supporters keep an open mind ahead of his first game in charge at Villa Park this weekend.
"His (McLeish's) move from the Blues to Villa is well documented, but it's football and things like this happen in football," he told Sky Sports News.
"It's one of those things in football that you just have to get on with. I am sure that he will do well for the team, bring it together and have a successful season."
He added: "Hopefully, yes (the Villa fans will receive him well). The Villa fans are passionate about football, they are passionate about the team and want the best for it.
"I am sure that they will give him (McLeish) a chance - I hope they will give him a chance."
