Aston Villa players face heavy fines if caught using their mobile phones.

The Telegraph says Lambert is determined to stamp down his authority and this week fined young midfielder Samir Carruthers £500 for making a call while at Aston Villa's training ground.

He said: "If I was to go to anybody else's work or business and start messing around then I'm pretty sure people wouldn't accept me messing around.

"These are the rules and I won't bend them for anyone. Have other players been fined? I won't go short of bread, let's put it that way."
