Aston Villa's deal for Elche midfielder Carlos Sanchez continues to rumble on.

The Birmingham Mail says Villa's pursuit of Sanchez has stretched into another day.

Reports in Spain suggested the deal was almost completed late last night but there was no official announcement from Villa.

It appears that there are some minor details which still need to be completed.
