Tottenham will have to up their planned bid in January if they're to land Aston Villa striker Christian Benteke. The Daily Mail says Spurs are looking to make a £28million bid for Benteke in the January transfer window.
The Belgian, who made an astonishing U-turn in the summer to sign a new contract at Villa Park despite interest from Chelsea and Spurs, could move to London sooner than Villa fans expected.
However, Villa would want £35million if they were to sell in January, with Spurs also looking elsewhere for striking options to fit into their fluid 4-3-3 system.
