Aston Villa winger Jack Grealish appears to be close to declaring himself for the Republic of Ireland.
Grealish also qualifies for England.
But after winning Ireland's U21 Player of the Year trophy at an FAI awards night in Dublin on Sunday night, Grealish has left the door open to a Boys in Green return.
"I spoke to [interim Ireland boss] Noel [King] at the start of the year," he said.
"And I said I was going to take a year out of international football this year and try to concentrate on my club football.
"I've had a good year at Villa and then hopefully next year I'll be back playing again for Ireland."
