Manchester City midfielder Michael Johnson is a summer target for Newcastle United and Aston Villa.
The Mirror says Newcastle had a bid for Johnson, 20, rejected last month and they will make a new move for him at the end of the season.
But the England Under-21 international is also a target for Villa.
