Aston Villa are hoping Sunderland boss Martin O'Neill DOES attempt to sign their players in January.

The Daily Mail says the hope inside Aston Villa is that former manager O’Neill might take some of his poor Villa Park buys with him to Sunderland in the next transfer window — with Carlos Cuellar and Fabian Delph two possibilities.

Other O’Neill signings who didn’t impress Villa fans include Shaun Maloney, Steve Sidwell, Wayne Routledge, Zat Knight, Nigel Reo-Coker, Marlon Harewood, Habib Beye, Curtis Davies, John Carew and Nicky Shorey.
