Villa unlikely to extend stay of LA Galaxy's Keane

Aston Villa manager Alex McLeish has indicated that it is unlikely the club will extend Robbie Keane's stay.

The Republic of Ireland international is on a short-term deal from LA Galaxy and after scoring a match-winning double against Wolves last Saturday, has been linked with a longer stint at Villa Park.

But McLeish suggest that Keane will return to the Galaxy, as planned, on February 25.

"Have we done anything about extending Keane's stay? No, his parent club is LA Galaxy and there is an agreement in place," said McLeish.

"We said if Robbie could come and give everyone a boost, get a couple of goals, make a significant difference in the other games, then great. But that's it."
