Aston Villa are chasing the Irishman, who has only just signed a new deal with the Royals.
Doyle said: "At least I'm not getting 101 questions about my future now, and that was the reason our director of football, Nicky Hammond, came to me.
"Last year we seemed to struggle after January and only got going after the transfer window.
"Hopefully, we can have a settled month and concentrate. The sooner the window is out of the way, the better.
"We need to forget about everything else. It's a great feeling to be challenging for a league as opposed to last season when we were struggling against relegation.
"Everyone seems happier and the team spirit is definitely better."
