Villa target Bothroyd finds Swansea approach embarrassing

Cardiff City striker Jay Bothroyd says he was "embarrassed" to have attracted an approach from Swansea.

Swans chairman Huw Jenkins has confirmed that they had spoken to Bluebirds boss Dave Jones about the possibility of signing him but Cardiff's valuation of the player was too high.

And just days after admitting being flattered to be linked with Aston Villa, Bothroyd told the club's official website: "You can kill that story off - I won't be going there. It's embarrassing. I'm happy at Cardiff."
