English Premier League club Aston Villa have confirmed they have opened talks with German outfit Borussia Monchengladbach regarding Michael Bradley.

The 23-year old USA midfielder is set for a six-month loan deal with Villa according to the Birmingham club.

"Villa can confirm that talks with Michael Bradley are at an advanced stage for a loan move until the end of the season," an official Villa statement read.

"The midfielder is due for a medical and discussions on personal terms in the next 24 hours."

Bradley has been with Monchengladbach in Germany's Bundesliga since August 2008 after spending two-and-a-half years with Dutch club Heerenveen.
