Aston Villa striker Darren Bent says he can cover the absence of banned Manchester United star Wayne Rooney for England at next year's Euros.
Bent is convinced he has what it takes to lead the attack in Poland and Ukraine after being left out of last year's World Cup squad.
The Villa ace told The Sun: "I'd like to think I'm the man who can start that first game at the Euros.
"It would be a massive part of my life to be involved at Euro 2012 or any major tournament.
"Getting into the squad would cap off a good two years for me since I missed out on the World Cup.
"If I get to go to the Euros I'll be over the moon but there's a long way to go and I have to keep working hard."
